Dr McGrane is a Consultant Physician based at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. He is the Lead Clinician for both the IT and Audit Group and the Type 2 Diabetes Group, two of the key subgroups of the GGC Diabetes MCN. He helped develop the SIGN 116 T2DM Pharmacological Management Algorithm and recently contributed to a Medical Technology Appraisal for NICE to help guide their planned new type 2 diabetes management algorithm.
In the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital he is Hospital Sub-Dean for the University of Glasgow.
Dr McGrane’s areas of interest include the management of type 2 diabetes and diabetes in pregnancy and reducing healthcare inequality related outcomes. He is Member of the South Asian Health Foundation in Scotland and through this work hopes to improve the health outcomes of the South Asian community.
