Professor Monica Lakhanpaul is a Professor of Integrated Community Child Health at the Institute of Child Health (UCL), Programme Director of UCL Partners Children, Young People and Maternity theme, Deputy Director (Child Health) CLAHRC and a consultant community paediatrician at Whittington Health. Her research focuses on the translation of evidence into clinical practice and health policy, drawing together education, primary and secondary research to improve health outcomes for children. Her research crosses primary, community and hospital care, social care and education. She is an advocate for children working with the professional colleges RCN,RCPCH, RCGP and College of Emergency Medicine and the Department of Health and was the founding clinical director for the National Collaboration Centre for Women’s and Children’s Health commissioned by NICE to lead the development of child health guidelines. She was awarded Asian Women of Achievement in 2010.
