26th Annual SAHF Conference: Sharing Knowledge, Inspiring Change

The 26th Annual South Asian Health Foundation (SAHF) Conference brought together over 270 healthcare professionals from across the UK for two inspiring days of learning, reflection, and collaboration.

Held at the Edgbaston Park Hotel in Birmingham, this year’s programme explored the latest developments in diabetes and cardiovascular disease, with a strong focus on tackling health inequalities and improving outcomes for South Asian communities.

A particular highlight was Professor Partha Kar’s session on Tackling Health Inequalities, delivered with his trademark mix of humour, honesty and challenge. His talk captured both the progress achieved and the persistent barriers that demand renewed energy and collective action.

The conference also celebrated excellence with Lifetime Achievement Awards presented to Professor Raj Bhopal and Professor Chittaranjan Yajnik, whose remarkable contributions to research and clinical practice have advanced understanding of ethnicity, metabolic health, and the life-course evolution of diabetes.

Across plenaries, masterclasses and poster presentations, delegates shared best practice, debated innovation and strengthened professional networks — reinforcing SAHF’s mission to reduce inequality and improve health across communities.

SAHF extends its sincere thanks to all our sponsors and exhibitors for their continued support, without which this annual meeting would not be possible.
